Even with the shutdown lasting longer than any other account in history, our job serge continues!
Over 300,000 new payrolls were claimed in January, continuing to show continuous strength within our economy.
Although our job surge continues, the unemployment rate showed an increase of .1%. This is due in large part to the closure, with 800,000 employees being labeled furloughed.
January, however, is the 100th straight month of United States growth in the job market. This is the longest in history!
