Starting the new year, statistics are looking opportunistic for employment. In closing 2018, within the final month of December, employment increased by 271,000 jobs.
In occurrence with historical trends, employment should continue to gain in numbers throughout the current year.
Not only are positions growing in numbers, but many current positions are gaining in employee pay. In the start of 2019, in many states, the minimum wage increased and went into effect on January 1st, 2019.
Twenty- two states gained an increase of minimum wage in the start on 2019 and Ohio was among them. Ohio’s minimum wage increased by $.25. The highest increases to take effect at the new year were in Maine and California with a dollar increase.
With new positions and higher pay, it is looking to be a great start for 2019.
