Minimum wage to go up in Ohio in January

The minimum wage in Ohio is scheduled to jump 15 cents to $7.85 starting Jan. 1, according to the Employment Policies Institute.

Ohio is one of 10 states that will increase the minimum wage rates starting in January, with Washington having the highest at $9.19, up from $9.04.

Three cities — San Francisco, Albuquerque and San Jose — also will boost their minimum wage rates that each city controls.
